CAPE CORAL, Fla.- Former Lee County school teacher Richard Doucette stands in front of a judge, accused of fondling a ten year-old girl at her own birthday party. The girl's father asks the judge not to let Doucette out of jail.
The judge agreed, and set bond at $200,000. After the hearing, the alleged victim's father is relieved. We're not identifying him to protect his daughter.
Doucette was a math teacher at Alva Middle School until 2008. The school district could not tell us why his employment ended. But he started volunteering at Christa McAuliffe Elementary school. That's where Doucette's daughters befriended the alleged victim.
