GOLDEN GATE, Fla. - A family is searching for answers tonight. They are asking why their loved one is dead after being tased by Collier County deputies.

The Sheriff's Office tells Wink News they received two 911 calls from 16th Place S.W. saying 26-year-old Linel Lormeus was acting bizarrely.

"There's someone running around and they're crazy and they're running around with things in their hand," said one caller.

"He's got a stick and one of those weights hitting the walls. He was outside running all kinds of crazy so I don't know there's people around and they can get hurt," said another 911 caller.

Deputies say when they arrived at the apartment, Lormeus took off. They tell Wink, Lormeus struggled with them and they tased him. Reports say he suffered a medical emergency and died, but his family feels there's more to tell.

"Someone called for help and instead of getting help he's killed," said family friend, Amonez Murat.

Lormeus' mother says he was treated for mental problems in Haiti, but hadn't taken his medicine in a year. An investigation into his death is ongoing.
