COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.-- Guidance counselors and psychologists were made available to students at Palmetto Ridge High School in Collier County Friday. Student Alex Crain is accused of killing his parents, Thomas and Kelly Crain, in their Golden Gate Estates home Thursday.

The 14-year-old suspect is a freshman at Palmetto Ridge High School in Collier County.

Alex Crain is also a member of the Junior ROTC.

Authorities say when they arrived at the home on 47th Avenue Northeast Thursday morning, they found the boy's parents dead and the teen surrendered.

Students tell WINK News they were shocked to learn about the killings.

Sophomore Alexis Moss says Alex Crain was a quiet kid who didn't hang out with bad people.

Some of Crain's fellow ROTC members say he was a nice person, but kept to himself.

The school had counselors and psychologists on stand-by Friday, and also counseled teachers on how to handle the issue.
