NORTH FORT MYERS- A woman attacked on her way out of Bob Evans tells WINK news tonight, she fought back with all her strength.

Today 72-year old Rosemary Freid plays tug of war with her dog "Snowflake". Deputies say, yesterday she did the same thing but with a thief who wanted her purse.

"He wanted my whole purse and he wasn't getting it."

Rosemary was leaving Bob Evans in North Fort Myers with her husband when she says she got a weird vibe.

"Something was about to happen and it was not going to happen."

So she put her purse in what she calls a "death grip." Just then deputies say 19 year old Jeff King, who was sitting at a nearby bench, grabbed it and started pulling.

"He wanted it, he definitely wanted it."

Rosemary says she wasn't giving it up so easy.

"I was fighting, I really was fighting, and yelling back at him."

Rosemary's husband jumped in the fight but was pushed down, that's when King started running toward the Motel 6 behind the restaurant.

Deputies used K-9's to track King's scent to this room, where the door was wide open.
They say inside they could see a man's clothing lying on the bed. The woman who lived here said, that clothing, belonged to her brother, Jeff King.

King was not there but was later arrested at his North Fort Myers home.
Today Rosemary says she realizes she could have been hurt, but says she doesn't regret fighting back.

"Maybe another lady won't get hurt that makes me feel good about the whole thing."
