SOUTH PUNTA GORDA HEIGHTS, Fla. - Roger Lindsley and his wife spent their Thanksgiving Day gathering their belongings instead of sitting down for a meal with loved ones.

"I saw the car and it went right into the bedroom. It was horrible. The worse moment in my life", said Diane Lindsley.

Charlotte County Deputies say a mentally unstable woman plowed into their bedroom at the Triangle Motel Apartments just north of Notre Dame Boulevard and U.S. 41 Thursday morning.

"[She] went right towards my house. She didn't even try to, she just smacked right into my bedroom", added Roger Lindsley

Neighbors who heard the crash rushed to get everyone safely out including the couple's 20 year old cat.

"They don't have a home no more. They're going to have to go somewhere else. I feel sorry for them", said neighbor Denise Padgett.

Code Enforcement condemned the apartment and the couple will now have to find a new place to live.
