TECO Peoples Gas – Ft. Myers line break

Thursday, November 18, 5 p.m. update

As of today, TECO Peoples Gas crews and additional personnel have visited all customers affected by the natural gas outage in the Ft. Myers and Naples area and restored gas service to nearly all commercial and residential customers.

A small number of customers were not available to allow our crews into their home or business, so we continue to work throughout every neighborhood to restore gas service. But essentially, we have completed the restoration of gas service to the 6,000 residential customers and 1,200 commercial customers who lost service when a contractor damaged an eight-inch natural gas main, causing a major break in service to the Ft. Myers and Naples area November 11.

Restoration crews will remain in neighborhoods throughout the Ft. Myers and Naples area through the weekend and into next week. We also have stationed personnel throughout the area to respond to customers who call from homes or businesses where we left hang tags.

Customers who still are without gas service Friday, November 19, should call 1-877-832-6747. We cannot make appointments to restore service, but will use the information from the calls to make every attempt to visit every customer Friday.

TECO Peoples Gas thanks customers for their patience during this outage. We also thank the media and public officials for helping communicate vital information to our customers.

This is the last update on the outage and restoration.
