LEE COUNTY, Fla. - Deputies are investigating threats called into two Lee County bingo halls just minutes apart on Friday night.
The first threat was called into Pondella Bingo in North Fort Myers just before 8pm. Employees told deputies an angry caller said there was a bomb in the building. Bomb squads and K9 teams searched the building and did not find any explosives.
Minutes after the call at Pondella Bingo, deputies were notified of a similar call made to South 41 Bingo in Fort Myers. A suspicious package was found outside the building. The bomb sent a robot to investigate the package, but again no exposives were found.
No arrests have been made. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-780-TIPS.
