FORT MYERS, Fla. - The 2nd Veteran's Connect event will be held in Lee County November 16th.

Veterans Connect is an initiative of Florida CFO Alex Sink launched a year ago. It's designed to encourage vets to reach out and tell the government about their service and to verify they are entitled to benefits.

The VA estimates that more than 22 billion dollars in benefits has gone unclaimed in the past few years.

Last year, more than 200 vets and their families came to the event in Cape Coral.

This year, it will be at Blessed Pop John XXIII Catholic Church at 13060 Palomino Lane in Fort Myers from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
