LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. - On Monday, November 8, 2010 at 9:14 p.m. the Lee County Sheriff's office received a report of a crash in Lehigh Acres at E. 6th Street and Highland Avenue. Deputies responded to the scene and discovered a Ford Mustang and Ford Ranger Pickup had been involved in a head-on collision.
The occupants of the pickup truck, a male and a female, died at the scene. The occupants of the Mustang, also a male and a female, were transported to Lee Memorial Hospital in critical condition. Both remain in critical condition today. Investigators are currently attempting to identify all of those involved.
The driver and passenger of the first vehicle, a 1992 Ford Ranger, are:
Driver and owner: Jennifer Marie Post (DOB: 06/16/86), Passenger: Barry A. Williams, Jr. (DOB: 08/03/84)
Post was wearing her seatbelt, Williams was not wearing his seatbelt.
The driver and passenger of the second vehicle, a 2000 Ford Mustang, are:
Driver and owner: Lisban Ramirez (DOB 12/19/87), Passenger: Elizabeth Marie Soto (DOB 05/07/91)
Ramirez and Soto were both wearing seatbelts and are both listed in stable but critical condition.
Detectives with the Traffic Homicide Unit of the Lee County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene and have determined the Mustang crossed the center line and drove into the path of the pickup.
After speaking with witnesses, detectives believe there was another vehicle in the area at the time of the crash. They need to speak with the occupants of that vehicle to assist in their investigation. The vehicle is believed to have been a small, dark, sports-type vehicle with a loud exhaust - possibly a Honda. This vehicle left the area before law enforcement arrived on scene.
