FORT MYERS, Fla. - It's hard enough to pay for all those presents this holiday season but what about the amount of gas you waste, going from store to store.
We have some tips!
First, organize a Christmas shopping carpool.
This takes some coordination but it could be fun and a great time with friends if one person agrees to drive to the grocery store, another day another person to the mall and if you attend a candlelight service, go as a group.
While out and about you could all split lunch which saves money too.
Second, there are local websites to check out if you are new to the area.
Check out icarpool.com or erideshare.com.
Both are great websites that can help you connect.
Third, have a plan. Check out what you're looking for online and find out if it's available in stores.
Then map out your route so you don't waste time, driving to a store that doesn't have what you want.
Utilize the Internet and phone to figure out what's available.
Fourth, check out the WINK News gas prices tab so you don't pay more than you have to.
Just click on the traffic tab.
