LEE COUNTY, Fla. - Investigators with the Lee County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Unit say an accused killer is now responsible for two murders less than a week apart.

First Degree Murder charges have been leveled against Brian Casey, DOB 2-4-73, of 7579 Twin Eagle Lane, Fort Myers, for the October 20, 2010 homicide of 38-year-old Larrick Sikes. Detectives say Sikes was killed and then transported to the area of 11500 Luckett Road Extension… where he was dumped on the side of the road and set on fire. Also arrested and charged with First Degree Murder in the case is Daniel Ventura, DOB 7-23-80 of 385 Buell Road, Fort Myers. MCU detectives say a third person, Lawrence Rasnick, DOB 11-21-73, is a person of interest in the case and is wanted for questioning. Rasnick is known to frequent the East Fort Myers area.

Casey is also charged with the October 15, 2010 murder of 34-year-old Ryan Vanderson. The investigation into that case shows Casey had gone to Vanderson's home at 7705 Victoria Cove, Fort Myers for a meeting. During the course of that meeting, Casey pulled out a gun and fatally shot Vanderson. In an attempt to cover the crime, Casey poured an accelerant throughout the house and set it on fire. Investigators say the two cases appear unrelated at this time.
