TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - The Public Service Commission has cut fuel cost recovery rates for three of Florida's investor-owned power companies starting in January.

The commission reduced final monthly bills for residential customers using 1,000 kilowatt hours, which is about average, by the following amounts on Tuesday:

- Tampa Electric Co., down by $5.71 for a 107.02 total.

- Gulf Power Co., down by $3.52 for a $122.67 total.

- Florida Public Utilities' Marianna Division down by $3.48 for a $152.06 total.

- Florida Public Utilities' Fernandina Beach Division down by 51 cents for a $132.34 total.

New fuel rates for Florida Power & Light Co. and Progress Energy Florida will be set later this year.
