IMMOKALEE, Fla. - Nearly 200 people took to the streets in Immokalee Tuesday night, trying to stomp out domestic violence.
It's a march that's meant to target all of Collier County with it's message against abuse; however, the feet hit the streets in Immokalee because of the growing need the Shelter for Abused Women and Children see.
Some Immokalee residents believe many in their community are silent about their abuse, and hope the march makes them feel less alone and more comfortable to seek help.
If you want more information you can call the shelter's 24-hour crisis hotline at (239) 775-1101.
