Man injured in shooting near Fort Myers apartment complex

A man was injured in a shooting near a Fort Myers apartment complex on Wednesday night.

According to the Fort Myers Police Department, a Shot Spotter alert reached officers just before 8 p.m. in the area of Henderson Avenue and Willard Street, east of the Southward Village apartment complex. A man was found with a gunshot wound to his hand and was transported to Gulf Coast Medical Center for treatment.

FMPD says it believes the incident was isolated, though is still under investigation. No one is in custody.
