CAPE CORAL, Fla. - The northbound lanes of Del Prado Boulevard remain closed from Viscaya Boulevard to SE 6th Street while crews work to remove a large, concrete utility pole that dislodged from a transport truck.
At 11:37 a.m., Cape Coral Dispatch received a 911 call reporting that a pole had fallen from a semi-tractor trailer traveling northbound on Del Prado across from the Cape Coral Hospital.

Because of the size of the pole, the accident required Cape Police to close all three northbound lanes between Viscaya Parkway and SE 6th Street.

Traffic is being rerouted, and the lanes will remain closed until the pole has been removed from the roadway.

Cape Police estimate that this may take at least another hour, and the road could reopen by 3:30 p.m.
