FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) - A brother was left fatally shot and a sister was wounded following an argument between the adult siblings at a Fort Lauderdale retail area.
Police say 23-year-old Juan Alicea Orozco and 25-year-old Jesnishia Alicea Orozco had been discussing money and living arrangements Wednesday near their mother's cigar kiosk at Beach Place. The mother told police that she had turned away for a moment and then heard gun shots. When she turned back, she saw her children lying on the ground.
Both siblings were rushed to a nearby hospital. The brother died shortly after arriving, and the sister was in critical condition.
Dozens of shoppers and diners were in the area at the time of the shooting.
It wasn't immediately clear who fired the shots.
