LEE COUNTY, Fla. - A new law governing the state's septic tanks will take center stage in Fort Myers Tuesday.

The Department of Health is hosting a public workshop to discuss the law that requires all of the state's estimated 2.6 million septic tanks to be inspected and brought up to code at the owners' expense.

Critics argue the law is too costly.

Tuesday's workshop will be at the Lee County Health Department in Fort Myers from 9 am - noon.
