NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. - Kennedy Patterson Jr. was hit on Bayshore Road early Friday morning.

Since Monday, Patterson is the third person hit on Bayshore Road.

Neighbors say the road is dangerous - too may drivers speed, don't use turn signals, and don't follow street lights or signs.

In May, David Mustonen was left for dead when he was hit on the road.

Neighbors want the speed limit lowered and more lights installed.

Charges against the driver are pending.

Vehicle 1 was traveling east in the outside lane of State Road 78 (Bayshore Road) approaching the intersection of Old Bridge Road, in North Fort Myers, Lee County. Vehicle 1 was steered toward the south, causing the right side of the vehicle to cross the outside lane line, cross the paved apron and then enter the grassy shoulder.

The right front corner of Vehicle 1 collided with Pedestrian 1 who was near the paved apron on the south side of State Road 78, west of Old Bridge Road. It was undetermined whether Pedestrian 1 was on the paved apron or in the grass shoulder. Pedestrian 1's direction of travel was also undetermined.

Pedestrian 1 was propelled toward the southeast, where he came to final rest, critically injured. Vehicle 1 fled the scene continuing east in the outside lane, then turning south on Old Bridge Road.
