FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. - It's time to say "Argh" on Fort Myers Beach. The 5th annual Pirate Fest has begun.

Filled with fun, music and all sorts of merriment, the Pirate Fest is designed to be a family-friendly event and is free and open to the public.

It's being held on Old San Carlos Boulevard by the bridge and runs through Sunday. Captain Flaherty, who is known on the mainland as Leo Fennell, says he loves getting gussied up as a pirate because of "the looks on the kids faces when they see the pirates, or when they get to talk to a pirate or the pirate gives them some treasure. That kind of stuff. The adults are into it too."

Musical acts are on the schedule, as are games and pirate pub crawls.
