MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (AP) - A 17-year-old girl is being treated in the hospital after being struck by a car as she tried to avoid shots that were fired at her Miami Gardens school.

The teen suffered a broken hip and collarbone. Her condition has not been released.

Authorities say there was a fight Wednesday evening at Norland Senior High School when shots were fired. No one was hit by the bullets, but the girl was struck twice by a getaway car.

The people inside the car have not been found. The car was abandoned nearby.
