FORT MYERS, Fla. - Police are investigating an early morning robbery at a Fort Myers Wendy's restaurant.

Officers say an employee was opening the door just before 7am Saturday when a black man came up to him from behind and pointed a gun to his head.  The employee was forced into the building and told open the safe.  The suspect then hit the employee in the head with the gun and left the scene with the money.

The victim tells police he saw a beige or white Lincoln leaving the parking lot.  No other description has been given.
