HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (AP) - A Hollywood man accused of setting pictures on fire after arguing with his girlfriend has been charged with arson.
Jail records show 23-year-old Jonathan Sanchez Jimenez was arrested Wednesday and charged with first-degree arson and aggravated assault in a domestic-related incident. He's being held at the Broward County Jail on $20,000 bail. It was not immediately known if he has an attorney.
Police say Jimenez and his girlfriend were arguing in their apartment when she called police on Sept. 17 to report a domestic violence-related incident. Days later police responded to a fire at their apartment. The bathroom wall was burned by a waste paper basket which had been set on fire. Jimenez told officers he set photos on fire because he was upset.
