PORT RICHEY, Fla. (AP) - The man who authorities believe murdered a 94-year-old woman last week has been arrested.
The Pasco County Sheriff's Office reports that 47-year-old John Sexton was arrested last week on burglary charges. Sheriff Bob White said at a news conference Tuesday that blood evidence on Sexton's clothing linked him to the death of Ann Parlato.
Parlato's body was found at her home Thursday afternoon by a friend.
White said Parlato's murder was extremely brutal and that her body had been mutilated.
Authorities have not released a motive for the killing.
