PUNTA GORDA, Fla. - Punta Gorda Police announces the arrest of Richard Albert Roy, 38, Punta Gorda, on charges of occupied burglary, exposure of sexual organs, and voyeurism.

Detectives report on September 9, 2010, at approximately 8:30 a.m. the female victim who resides in the Gulf Breeze Apartment Homes in Punta Gora woke up to find Richard Roy standing over her masturbating.

Upon seeing the victim wake Richard Roy ran from the residence. The victim reported to police she knows Richard Roy from living at the apartment complex but does not have a personal relationship with him. Richard Roy was located by police a short time later and provided a statement to police. This investigation determined Richard Roy knew the victim was probably asleep inside her residence and entered the unlocked residence without permission when he found her sleeping inside.

Richard Roy was arrested and transported to the Charlotte County Jail on no bond.
