LEE COUNTY, Fla. - A Lee County judge granted bond to a Cape Coral teen accused of shooting and killing his 15 year old girlfriend Ashley Swayze. 18 year old Dylan Wisniewski made his first appearance in court Wednesday. He's held on a quarter million dollars bond.
It was tense in court as both families argued on behalf of their child.
Dylan Wisniewski appeared via closed circuit television. His mother told the court he's a good kid and he has a good support system at home that will help him through the tragedy... but the Swayze family made it clear they want their daughters boyfriend behind bars. Ashley's father told the judge it took time to point that gun, what Dylan did was wreckless, and he doesn't deserve to get out.
David Swayze said, "I wonder why he's able to walk out and live his life while I bury my baby. There are no words to describe how I feel."
Wisniewski's family requested grief counseling for their son. The couple had been dating for 2 years. If he gets out, he has a curfew, he's not allowed to travel, and he has to have a chaperon.
His family has to come up with $25,000 to get him out. He's still in jail and due back in court in October.
