ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - A federal appeals court says the city of Orlando can't enforce its ban on groups feeding the homeless in public parks, for the time being.
The 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta said Tuesday that the ban can't be enforced until the court rehears an appeal on the matter.
After the ban was passed four years ago, a group that regularly feeds the homeless in downtown Orlando sued the city and won. The city appealed to a panel of three judges on the 11th Circuit, and the judges ruled in favor of the city.
The rehearing will be before the full court's 10 members.
