WASHINGTON (AP) - American Muslims have launched a new web site they hope will defuse hostility over a proposed Islamic center near ground zero.
Washington attorney Hassan Ahmad (HAH'-sahn AH'-mad) says he and a small group of fellow Muslims created www.myfaithmyvoice.com so that American Muslims can upload videos of themselves.
The web site suggests that users introduce themselves and say "I am American. I am Muslim," and "I don't want to impose my faith on you." But Ahmad says they can upload any message they want.
Ahmad believes it will be a forum for average Muslims to show they're like other Americans.
