TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - A 21-year-old Florida man is behind bars after authorities say he posed as a 14-year-old to join a youth football league and tried to register at a Tampa middle school.
Julious Javone Threatts of Tampa was arrested Tuesday. He was being held on charges of trespassing on school grounds, obstruction by a disguised person and violation of probation.
Hillsborough County jail records Saturday did not show whether he was represented by an attorney.
Tampa Bay Youth Football League president Steve Levinson says Threatts joined this season after playing in a now-defunct youth football conference last year.
Threatts only played in one game, on Aug. 21. Officials became suspicious as he attempted to register at D. W. Webb Middle School without his parents or the necessary paperwork.
