LEE COUNTY, Fla. - A two year old boy has died after drowning in a lake behind his family's home.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office was called the 12000 block of Country Day Circle on Saturday evening after the child got out of a lanai and disappeared around 8:15pm.  Deputies and neighbors were searching until the boy was found in the water shortly after 9pm.

LCSO says it appears to be a tragic accident, but deputies are continuing to investigate.
