LEE COUNTY, Fla. - The Lee County Sheriff's Office Robbery Unit is asking for the public’s help in locating a home invasion suspect.
On Tuesday, August 10, 2010, at approximately 4:00 A.M., deputies with the Lee County Sheriff's Office responded to a residence, located at 2917 13th Street W, Lehigh Acres, in reference to a home invasion robbery. Deputies made contact with the victim, who explained he had been sleeping on a couch when two black male acquaintances entered the home through an unlocked door.
Deputies learned the victim was ordered at gunpoint to load his television into an outside vehicle that belonged to his mother. The suspects then drove off in the victim's mother's vehicle with the television. Due to the nature of the incident, the Lee County Sheriff's Office Robbery Unit assumed the investigation.
After speaking with the victim, investigators were able to identify both suspects. Suspect number one, Oscar Dean Russ (DOB 7/22/77), of 2610 Charleston Park Drive, Alva, was arrested on August 24, 2010 and charged with one count of Home Invasion with a Firearm. Suspect number two has been identified as Jerome T. Johnson (DOB 7/22/89), of 23020 Railroad Avenue, Fort Myers.
Johnson is described as a B/M, 5'7", 225lbs, brown eyes, black hair, heavy build.
