CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. - Charlotte County Sheriff's detectives arrested Thomas Kevin Pegg, 41, 28024 Cleveland Ave. for the Aug. 14 burglary of the Moose Lodge, 27590 Disston Ave., in the Cleveland area east of Punta Gorda. CCSO sent out surveillance photos to media asking the public to help identify the man shown. One of the identifying marks was a tattoo on his back below his neck. While inside the lodge, Pegg pulled his shirt up over his head to hide his face however a security camera also shows the tattoo on his back.

An alarm went off at 4:12 a.m. at the Moose Lodge; deputies responded and a K9 unit tracked the suspect to an area on Mitchell Ave. where the track ended and the suspect was not located. On Aug. 21, detectives received the Crime Stopper tip naming Pegg that matched the suspect in the security video.

Pegg was questioned by CCSO detectives Tuesday and photos were taken of the tattoo on his back that matched the security photos sent to the media. Pegg was charged with Burglary and Petit Theft then transported to the Charlotte County Jail. He remains in jail on $3,000 bond.
