ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Child welfare workers from around the state will gather in Orlando this week for their annual summit.
Department of Children and Families Secretary George Sheldon will be the keynote speaker for the conference, which begins Tuesday. Baby Jenny, the Haitian toddler who was reunited with her family in Miami after surviving five days in the debris, will also be at the event.
The annual dependency summit unites child advocates, law enforcement, education and legal experts to discuss ways to improve Florida's foster care system.
