FORT MYERS, Fla. - With the school year beginning, supplies are running low in The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools' Teacher Resource Center. Over the summer, hundreds of public school teachers visited the Teacher Resource Center to get free supplies for their classrooms and for their students in need. To help the cause, many local businesses are participating in 'back to school' supplies drives by collecting donations and donating their efforts to the Foundation's Teacher Resource Center. Basic supplies such as books, notebooks, paper, pencils, pens and markers are always in need along with other more unconventional items such as furniture, arts and crafts and wallpaper books.

Contributions will be collected until September 3rd. Due to the economic strife, more families are finding it difficult to provide the basic school supplies for their children. School Supplies drives help assure that all of our students have the tools necessary to succeed in the classroom.
