FORT MYERS, Fla. - Thursday, August 12, 2010, detectives with the Fort Myers Police Department arrested a Naples man for soliciting sex from what he thought was a teenage girl, but instead an undercover officer.

Recently, during an undercover sting to address internet sex crimes detectives posted ads targeting John's interested in soliciting prostitutes. Wayne Neff (d.o.b. 2-2-53 of Naples) responded to an ad that depicted an undercover female officer as a 15-year old prostitute. Neff solicited the undercover detective to engage in sex for the price of five hundred dollars. Through e-mails Neff arranged to meet the detective at a Fort Myers motel. Neff arrived at the motel yesterday morning with the intention of following through with the act.

Neff is charged with procuring a person under the age of eighteen for prostitution, attempted lewd or lascivious battery and solicitation of a minor over the computer.
