TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - A Hillsborough County woman has pleaded guilty to DUI manslaughter for a 2008 crash that left a woman dead and her young daughter seriously injured.
Cheryl Maria Riemann pleaded guilty Wednesday to DUI
manslaughter, DUI resulting in serious bodily injury and three counts of property damage. The 27-year-old Ruskin woman faces up to 23 years in prison at her Oct. 27 sentencing.
Authorities say Riemann was traveling the wrong way on a Tampa toll road in September 2008 when she crashed head-on into a car driven by 24-year-old Jennifer O'Boyle. O'Boyle was killed and her then-4-year-old daughter, Summer Moll, was injured.
Prosecutors dropped a vehicular homicide and a reckless driving count in exchange for the guilty plea.
