CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. - A Charlotte County Firefighter has been arrested for assaulting a senior citizen.

The Fire and EMS Chief said the employee got into a confrontation with another person about a scratch on a car. The employee was off-duty when the incident happened.

The 36-year-old employee was arrested Wednesday afternoon. He has been working for the County for more than four years and has had a clean record until now.

The employee is on paid leave for the time being.
