WINTER HAVEN, Fla. (AP) - A man was killed when his ultralight amphibious plane crashed into a central Florida lake near the Winter Haven Municipal Airport.

Police say two men saw the plane go down offshore and they used a boat to get to it. They pulled the man out, but he was already dead.

Authorities didn't immediately return calls for additional information.
