Shootout with Deputy leaves one dead

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. - A man dies in his backyard during a shootout with deputies.
Around 2 pm Thursday afternoon, two deputies with the Lee County Sheriff's Office were traveling to pick up a wanted man. When no one answered the front door, deputies went around to the backyard.
A man started shooting at the deputies and one officer returned fire. The suspect died on scene.
It is not clear who killed the suspect. The two deputies in the area are currently being placed on restrictive duty.
