FORT MYERS, Fla.-One of the biggest foreclosure auctions in history begins in Fort Myers on Thursday. 1500 new foreclosures in the state of Florida hit the auction block in a 6-day, 8-city auction series. It starts Thursday night, July 29th at the Harborside Event Center in downtown Fort Myers.
Among some of the properties, a nearly 3400 square foot home in Bonita Springs. The 5-bed, 3-bath home was previously valued at 1.1 million. The starting bid is just $219,000.
Another property up for bid is a 4-bedroom home in Cape Coral originally valued at nearly a half million dollars. The starting bid is only $59,000.
The auction tour starts in Southwest Florida and also includes stops in Orlando, Miami and Tampa. It ends in Sarasota on August 6th.
If you plan to bid and purchase, you need to have a $5000 cashier's check for the first property. You also have to pay the balance of the 5% deposit required. Also, bring your photo ID. The auction begins at 6:30 p.m.
