7:00AM Update:  Investigators say the boat involved has evidence of a human smuggling operation.  Se the video in Kyle Jordan's live report.  One person was on board when spotted during regular water patrols and tried to race off.  The boat crashed into the pier at the Punta Rassa boat ramp after only going about 100 yards.  The operator was able to get away. 


6:30am Update:  The search efforts are now over.  Investigators are looking at a boat docked in Punta Rassa but aren't saying why.  The agencies involved include the Lee County Sheriff's Office, US Coast Guard, FDLE and Border Patrol.  Immigration and Customs Enforcement is on the way.

PUNTA RASSA, Fla- The FDLE is leading a search this morning for two suspects near the Punta Rassa boat ramp. An area around the Sanibel Harbour Resort and Spa is blocked off to create a perimeter. The search started around 3:45am after reports of a boat crash. WINK News is on the scene and will have updates through our morning newscasts.
