ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) - A pest control worker is being held in jail on a grand theft charge for taking the Tampa Bay Rays championship ring from the team's sales manager.
St. Petersburg police say 41-year-old Scott Richardson is also charged with dealing in stolen property. He was arrested Thursday. Jail records show he's being held Monday on $10,000 bail at Pinellas County Jail. It was not immediately known if he had an attorney, and there was no phone number listed for him.
Police say Richardson stole the ring from the home of Rays sales manager Robert Windheim while working as an exterminator.
The ring - valued at $3,600 - was sold to a pawn shop. Richardson was paid $695.
Authorities are investigating other complaints from customers who said Richardson stole from them.
