LEE COUNTY, Fla - Two people are recovering in this hospital Sunday night after flames tear through several town houses.

At least six homes at the Summerlin Trace apartments were burned in a fire. The fire was so intense that the roof of two units collapsed.

Neighbors reported hearing an explosion followed by heavy smoke and flames shooting from one of the homes.

Firefighters from across the county were able to put out the fire, but not before it spread.

A dog inside one of the houses died.

So far, no word on what sparked the fire.
