LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Almost three years after a Publix store closed on U.S. 41, a new grocery store is taking its place. Three years ago, Publix closed its doors at the South Trail Shopping Center. That angered a lot of people in the area, who said they needed to have a grocery store nearby. Today it was announced Save A Lot will open in the old Publix space. The store is set to open later this year.
