CAPE CORAL, Fla. - One person was killed and two others injured in a crash on Del Prado Boulevard on Friday evening.

Cape Coral police say 20 year-old Brittany Nicole Lehman was a passenger in the front seat of a car that slammed into a tree.  Officers say she died at the scene.

Cape police say the teenage passenger and the driver, 22 year-old John Patrick Roberts, both suffered serious injuries.

Police say Roberts was speeding on Del Prado when his car drifted off the road, skidded, and hit the tree head-on.

Cape police are conducting a traffic homicide investigation.  Officers say alcohol was a factor in the crash.

Lehman is the sixth person to die in a traffic crash in Cape Coral this year.
