FORT MYERS, Fla. - Police and authorities from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) have busted a pirate radio station in Fort Myers and two men have been arrested in connection with the case.
The case unfolded on Thursday night, June 3, 2010, the Fort Myers Police Department conducted a search warrant at 2401 Welch Street. The bust concluded a week-long investigation between FMPD and agents with the FCC.
The investigation revealed that an unlicensed radio station was broadcasting out of the home without a license. The FCC had been monitoring the station on the frequency 95.7 FM.
Police seized numerous electronic items and shut down the "pirate" radio station.
Police arrested Alex Alcime, 29, and Patrick Michael Ford, 21, for one count each of unauthorized transmissions to, or interference with, public or commercial radio station licensed by the Federal Communications Commission.
