LEE COUNTY, Fla. - A Fort Myers man is out $4,000, which was reportedly stolen out of his notebook during a visit to the South County Regional Library in Estero.

It was around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, when police were dispatched to meet with the victim who indicated that he had left a black notebook with two bank envelopes containing $2,000 each at a computer station while he went to retrieve a paper from the printer.

It's believed that the theft occurred around noon. A "person of interest" was reportedly observed in the area of the man's computer workstation around the time when the theft occurred, but a search of the area did not lead to the recovery of his cash.
