PANAMA CITY, Fla. - An Ohio football player who was recruited by Notre Dame had a blood-alcohol level more than twice Florida's legal limit when he fell to his death from a hotel balcony.

A toxicology report released Wednesday in Panama City said 17-year-old Matt James had a blood-alcohol level of 0.19. A person is considered drunk legally in Florida at 0.08 or above.

James was a 6-foot-8, 280-pound offensive lineman from Cincinnati who planned to enroll at Notre Dame in June.

An autopsy showed James died of brain injuries after falling from the fifth-floor balcony on April 2. James was in Florida on spring break with six adults and 40 other students from Cincinnati's St. Xavier High School.
