FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. - Shorty after 10:00 p.m. Saturday, a woman was stuck by a truck while sitting on the fountain in front of Snug Harbor and Nervous Nellies on Fort Myers Beach.
Deputies say a man was in the area when he hit a car, bounced up on the curb and struck the woman.
The victim had to be Med-Flighted to the hospital and both of her legs are severely damaged.
A witness says the scene was horiffic. He also says the man driving the truck was held at the scene by restaurant customers until authorities came.
The deputies have not released the name of the man who was driving the truck, but say he was arrested and facing multiple DUI charges.
