The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools is recruiting mentors for high school and middle school students who were recently selected as scholarship recipients in the Take Stock in Children Scholarship Program. Mentors are caring adults who can listen, coach, guide, and motivate students to do their best in school and to make the best choices in life; they become student advocates and role models. Mentors meet with their assigned scholar for the course of the school year, during school hours, on school grounds for one hour, two to three times per month. Given extensive support, motivation, and accountability, children will work hard to ensure that they graduate from high school and attain a college degree.
The Foundation is recruiting mentors for high school and middle school scholarship recipients in the following schools:
Cape Coral High
Cypress Lake High
Fort Myers High
Mariner High
Fort Myers Middle Academy
Lehigh Acres Middle
Paul Laurence Dunbar Middle
Varsity Lakes Middle
Mentoring sessions are 1 hour and happen 2-3 times/month.
