BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. - A series of violent robberies continues to rattle a Bonita Springs Neighborhood.
The victim says four men attacked him all at once, hitting him in the face and body. One of them used a rock as a weapon. A construction worker, Jose, says he heard about the attack Sunday night. "Four guys got out, beat him up, took his wallet and just left him bloody. He came over next door and talked to them, and told them what happened," said Jose.
According to Lee County Sheriff's reports, the 25 year old man was walking along Goodwin Avenue around 11pm Sunday. Thats when a gold colored Pontiac Grand Prix came up behind him and four men jumped out. They took his wallet and sped off toward Matheson Avenue.
A few weeks ago, an elderly man on a bike was robbed in the same area on the same street . The suspects took his wallet and forced him to withdraw money from his bank account. Surveilance video was taken at Bank of America on Bonita Beach Road. Earlier that week, in the same area, a group of men in a car left a young man badly beaten and robbed.
"I feel bad," said Jose. "I feel like I wish we had more patrol cars going around the area, making sure everybody is safe."
